THE BOB FINCH MEMORIAL FUND  

A Responsible and Effective Organization 

Building a responsible and effective organization has been the priority of the founders of the Finch Fund since day one in 2018. It will remain the priority throughout the life of the organization with ongoing review and development of policies and procedures to create the best outcomes. 

Responsible: 

People with MS who wish to partner with the Finch Fund engage in an application process that ensures we are supporting requests that best fulfill our mission. It also ensures that we are the best resource to fill their need. First, we work directly with potential partners to identify their needs and the best way to fulfill those needs with long-term effectiveness in mind. We may also help to connect them with other sources of financial help like the National MS Society MS Navigator* program. Then, we fund appropriate projects.  

Effective: 

The Bob Finch Memorial Fund operates under guidelines that produce positive practices and outcomes. The Finch Fund Board is made up of community volunteers who have the knowledge, understanding, lived experience, and skills that will best develop those positive practices and outcomes. They’ve laid the foundation for the Finch Fund to become the effective 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization it now is. The skills and experience our board members bring to the table include:  

· Members who are very knowledgeable about assistive technology and related fields. 

· Members with experience conducting business and engaging community resources. 

· Members with experience in Non Profit leadership.  

· Members with an intimate understanding of the effects of MS.  

· Members with connections to other MS support organizations including the Clinton MS Support group and delegates to larger regional and national MS organizations. 

· Our Treasurer is a former longtime chief financial officer for Mercy Medical Center. 

Most importantly all members of the Finch Fund Board have already demonstrated repeatedly that they are willing to roll up their sleeves and get the job done!
